COSA was formed to provide a networking forum and support opportunities for individuals who serve as assistants or secretaries to school superintendents and boards of education throughout Colorado.  Members include secretaries, administrative and executive assistants.  Quarterly meetings are held in hosting school districts.  The number of meetings have been reduced due to financial constraints.  Members are in constant contact with each other throughout the year for additional support and questions. Topics covered at meetings and annual conference may include:
  • election laws
  • legal advice
  • policy support
  • salary surveys
  • paperless board solutions
  • conflict resolution
  • media relations
  • dealing with change
  • school finance

An annual conference is held in the summer.  It is a time to relax and rejuvenate after completing another school year.  The retreat also provides an opportunity to share, learn, laugh, make contacts, renew friendships and talk with fellow colleagues and friends who understand your professional responsibilities.
